From the High Street in Codicote, turn into Heath Lane. Follow the road to Kimpton Mill, where you turn right. This road goes uphill, until you reach a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction. This road takes you to Whitwell.

When you reach Whitwell, turn right into the B561 (signposted St Pauls Walden/ Hitchin). This road goes slightly uphill to St Pauls Walden, past the family home of the late Queen Mother.

In St Pauls Walden turn right just past the Strathmore Arms into Bullock Lane. This goes quite steeply uphill, but only for a short distance. At a fork in the road, take the right hand side (signposted Easthall/ Langley). At a second fork, take the right hand side again (signposted Easthall, the left going to Langley).

When you get to a T-junction turn right (signposted Whitwell), even though the left turn is signposted Codicote. This would take you to the B656 (the Codicote-Hitchin road), which is not pleasant to cycle on at all!

You'll reach another T-junction, signposted left to Codicote and right to Whitwell. This time you turn left. This road takes you all the way back to Codicote. The road becomes a bit hilly, with two quite steep bits, but they are not very long! This road takes you back to Wyevale Garden Centre.
